ALISON HUBBARD, Development and Compliance Manager

Alison, who joined Schoolreaders as Development Co-ordinator in 2017, has been Chair of Governors at her local primary school for 13 years, and sees first-hand the benefits of having Schoolreaders in the school.   Alison was previously Chair of the local pre-school committee and is also involved with local Brownie and Guide groups.

VICKY CLEAVER Senior Operations Co-ordinator

Vicky's background in bookselling made a move to Schoolreaders a natural progression.  Having spent 14 years as a shop manager for three branches of Waterstones, and provided Operations Support for 15 others Waterstones outlets in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, Vicky has a comprehensive knowledge of the book trade, and is an office all-rounder with experience of payroll and rota administration.  In their spare time, Vicky and her husband enjoy messing around on the river in canoes and on paddle boards.

SARAH LAMPLOUGH, Senior Operations Co-ordinator

Sarah is an Operations Co-ordinator in the Schoolreaders team. She interviews the volunteers and matches them to schools. Sarah has a degree in psychology and her background includes social work, customer service and working with offenders. Sarah lives in Northamptonshire with her husband and two daughters.

CAROLINE DOWSON, Recruitment &County Co-ordinator

Caroline joined Schoolreaders, as an Operations Coordinator after a career in education, where she specialised in Autism. Originally from North Yorkshire Caroline now lives in Bedford with her family. She enjoys reading classic literature, going to the theatre, and travelling.

RACHAEL ROGAN, Trusts Officer

Rachael joined Schoolreaders in April 2022, working as part of our trusts team. She previously owned the children’s bookshop Rogan’s Books in Bedford, and founded and runs BookTastic, the annual children’s book festival. She also works with the UK’s leading illustrators in her online gallery of original artwork from children’s picture books, Children’s Book Illustration. Rachael lives in Bedfordshire with her husband, two children and a menagerie of animals.

AMY JARVIS, Key Relationships Manager

Amy joined the Schoolreaders fundraising team in early 2022 following a career in business development and client relationship management across sectors including law, education, and financial services.  She has a degree in International Management & Modern Languages from the University of Bath.  

Amy lives in a village outside Bedford with her husband and two children and sits on the governing body at her local primary school.

RACHEL KASUJJA, Operations Co-ordinator

Rachel joined Schoolreaders in August 2021 and has a degree in Archaeological Science.  She spent the majority of her career in business development and recruitment across media and the creative sector.  Rachel lives in Bedford with her husband and son and is passionate about helping to improve the lives of young people from all backgrounds. In her spare time Rachel enjoys reading and writing and hopes to self-publish her own novel very soon.

CLAIRE AYLING, Trusts Manager

Claire joined the Schoolreaders fundraising team in September 2022. She has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years for a variety of national and local charities initially focusing on volunteer recruitment, support and development before moving into trust fundraising 7 years ago. Claire lives in rural Northamptonshire with her family. She enjoys live music, theatre and long walks in the countryside.

HELEN TOLMIE, Office Administrator

Helen joined Schoolreaders in November 2022 as an Office Administrator.  Helen previously worked as a Legal Secretary for various law firms in London and Bedford specialising mainly in the Family law sector.  Originally from Suffolk, she now lives in Bedford with her husband and two children.   In her spare time she enjoys skiing, gardening and walking.

CLAIRE SWEET, Operations Coordinator

Claire became an Operations Coordinator in November 2022. She spent 13 years as a Teacher in Primary Schools and knows how valuable keen volunteers are to school staff and children. Claire is passionate about ensuring all children enjoy what they are learning and are supported to achieve their goals. In her spare time, Claire likes to go on family adventures with her husband and two young children.
