Schoolreaders Book Club Quiz!
Did you know that in 2019 one in four children aged 11 failed to reach the government’s required reading standards? A child who can't read properly at this age may struggle at secondary school and this can have a huge impact on their opportunities in later life. Schoolreaders helps to address this problem by finding volunteers to read with children in primary schools. In this academic year our volunteers will be giving more than 400,000 one-to-one reading sessions. It costs us an average of just £15 to provide reading support to one child for a whole academic year...

Sophie Kinsella joins forces with Schoolreaders
We're delighted that best-selling author Sophie Kinsella has agreed to be the face of this year's quiz. Sophie first hit the UK bestseller lists in September 2000 with 'The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic'. She has since sold over 40 million copies of her books in more than 60 countries. Sophie has come up with some questions for our quiz - test your wits against one of the best writers around!
Sophie says: 'Schoolreaders is doing fantastic work giving children vital literacy skills and showing them the pleasure and fun of reading! I am absolutely delighted to be associated with the wonderful Schoolreaders.'

How does the Book Club Quiz work?
One member of your Book Club registers you to take part by clicking on the 'Register' button at the bottom of this page. We will send out a Book Club Quiz pack, which includes our quiz sheet, details of how to take part, and some Schoolreaders bookmarks and other small extras for members to share out. We will also send a paying in form, as we hope you will raise money for Schoolreaders during your event.
The Host agrees a date for the event with club members (usually as part of one of your regular meetings).
You could consider holding your quiz on World Book Day on Thursday 5th March 2020. We simply ask that you have completed your fundraising and sent your donation to us by Friday 12th June 2020.
On the agreed date, the Host leads the quiz and either submits the answers via our online form (click the button below) or fills in and posts the answer sheet included in your quiz pack. Any donations your club has collected are sent back to us with a completed Gift Aid form. The winning Book Club will win a case of Prosecco to share, as well as signed books. All Clubs submitting an entry, regardless of their score, will be entered into a draw for further prizes. We'll be posting the correct answers online on 13th June.
