Hold an Event

Host Your Own Event for Schoolreaders

Make a lasting impact on children’s literacy by hosting your own event in support of Schoolreaders. Whether it’s a small gathering or a larger community effort, every event helps to provide free reading support to children across the country.

Just £40 raised will provide one child with an entire year of one-to-one reading support in primary school.

Get Inspired

Not sure where to start? Here are some event ideas to get you thinking:·

- Book Club Fundraiser: Bring your local book club together for a reading marathon or themed discussion. You can charge an entry fee, or ask for a suggested donation. You could even host a virtual book club via Zoom!·

- Sponsored Read: Just like a sponsored walk, but with reading! Why not engage the young readers in your community with a challenge to read as many books as possible?·

- Open Garden: Show off your green-fingers by inviting guests to view your garden. Whether it’s large or small, provide a tour or share some gardening tips or fun facts, you could even sell some of those extra apples or tomatoes to raise more funds!
