More than 160 Classrooms Join Schoolreaders Author Supporter Rob Biddulph for a Special Online Event

More than 160 classrooms from Schoolreaders partner schools recently came together for a very special online event with our wonderful Author Supporter, Rob Biddulph.

Author of over 15 picture books, award-winning illustrator and creator of the world-record breaking Youtube channel ‘Draw with Rob’, Rob generously gave his time to host the live session, giving thousands of children the opportunity to hear from one of the UK's best-loved children’s authors and illustrators.

During the event, Rob shared how his love of drawing as a child eventually led him to a career as an illustrator and, later, an award-winning children's author. By showing some of his childhood sketches alongside his professional work, he encouraged children to see that creativity grows with practice and that everyone has to start somewhere.

Children then had the chance to take part in a live draw-along workshop, following Rob step by step as he demonstrated how to create one of his wonderful illustrations. It was fantastic to see so many classrooms enthusiastically joining in, with pencils at the ready as their own drawings came to life. Even the Schoolreaders Team got involved!

To round off the session, Rob shared a captivating recording of his heartwarming picture book I Follow the Fox. The cozy tale kept children completely engaged and demonstrated the magic of sharing a story aloud.

Opportunities to meet authors, hear stories performed and discover the creative journey behind a book can inspire children to become enthusiastic readers, writers and artists themselves.

We are incredibly grateful to Rob for giving his time so generously and creating such a memorable experience for our partner schools. Thanks to his support, children across the country were able to enjoy an inspiring event that celebrated reading, creativity and imagination.
