Schoolreaders at the Nevill Holt Festival

Schoolreaders was delighted to be part of this year’s Nevill Holt Festival, which describes itself as “a festival of arts, entertainment and ideas” held in the Leicestershire countryside.

With around 12,000 people attending across the festival, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness of Schoolreaders and speak to new audiences about our work.

Across four days at the festival, we had the chance to speak to lots of people about Schoolreaders and the difference our volunteers make by reading with children in primary schools each week. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness of our work in Leicestershire and beyond, and to meet people who were interested in finding out more about volunteering with us.

We are especially grateful to the wonderful Schoolreaders volunteers who gave up their time to support us at the festival. Their enthusiasm and first-hand experience of volunteering helped bring the Schoolreaders message to life and made such a difference to the conversations we had at our table.

We even got the chance to catch up with Author Support Rob Biddulph following his brilliant children's event on Sunday 7th June.

A big thank you too to the Nevill Holt Festival team for having us. We were so pleased to be part of such a special event and are looking forward to doing it again next year!
